For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.ġ7 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.ġ8 …through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. We read earlier that death came into the world through the sin of one man, but that’s far from the entire picture.ġ5 But the free gift is not like the offense. We realize that God has a solution… something greater than the painful reminder. When we know God and the truth of His Scripture, death also brings us… God did not leave us in the valley or under the shadow. *how that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangsīut, death doesn’t merely remind us of the universal nature of mankind’s problems. *creation itself being under the bondage of corruption (vs. *the whole creation being subject to futility (vs. *the sufferings of this present time (vs.18) The universal nature of mankind’s problem is further expressed in Romans 8 where Paul refers to: Paul said in Romans 5:12, that “through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men…” Anytime we stand at the graveside, we are reminded of the shadow that has been cast over humanity because of Adam’s sin.
